I ordered lunch for a meeting at work today and experienced a small but funny communication barrier. One person ordered a salad that is supposed to come with "sweet cherry vinaigrette", and here is what happened.
Me, ordering over the phone: "One special salad with sweet cherry vinaigrette".
Guy at restaurant: "Sweet cherry?"
Me: "Yes, sweet cherry vinaigrette."
Guy: "Sweet cherry?"
Me: "Yes."
I understood his confusion when the order arrived and there were THREE containers of dressing by the salad!
